Challenge Family Centre
The Challenge Family Centre is a project driven by the voice of our families and is the perfect extension to compliment the existing support offered by our organisation.
The Centre will provide a non-threatening space where families can come together and feel completely support ed in their journey from the time of diagnosis, throughout the treatment period and beyond.
Challenge passionately believes that children and families who are offered fun and support are better able to cope with the pressures of a life-threatening illness. The Centre is envisaged as a one-stop shop for the non-medical needs of our members where they can access that fun and support .
The Challenge Family Centre will deliver physical and emotional support by providing:
- Comprehensive information
- Counselling and advice, and
- Complementary therapies
To strengthen our external relationships, Challenge will deliver these services through a series of alliances with:
- Hospitals
- Government
- Funding bodies
This year will see the culmination of a ten-year dream at Challenge, when the Challenge Family Centre is built.
This is currently a $1.6m project, so we would obviously like to keep costs as low as possible with the help of Challenge supporters who would like to be involved in this amazing project.
If you know any people in the building trades it would be great if you could make them aware of Challenge's need.
This includes painters, electricians, landscape gardeners, etc, along with many other areas…
Challenge is holding an information evening on Wednesday 9th March here at Challenge House from 6.30pm to inform significant people within the building industry about what resources are needed to alleviate expenses. Hopefully we will have many people attend and throw their hands up to help in whatever capacity they can.
Together, we can ensure the Challenge Family Centre is built at a minimum cost to Challenge so that we can continue to focus on the current array of much-needed programs and services that we provide.
So, if you are or know of somebody in the industry who might like to help, we’d love to have you and them attend on the night. Please phone Jaime at Challenge on 9329 8474 to advise if you will be attending.
Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards
David

So true, and what’s perhaps even more devastating is Bendigo Chiropractic Centre that there’s been so little support to help the community rebuild.
